Hi all,

 

I'm sorry that I write in English, but I do not speak Russian. I represent the Finnish RC-Club IGG Finland ( www.iggfin.com ) . We build and fly scale sailplanes and towing machines. We organize a number of events in Finland every summer and next summer we organize the first open finnish glider aerobatic championships too. I am looking for contacts with Russian pilots, who are interested in towing of scale sailplanes and. We meet every year Estonian, German, Sweden and Norwegian pilots. It would be nice to meet sometimes Russian pilots too. We have some events this summer, which will be held under 500km away from St. Petersburg.

Thank you Bil and Sergelevin! Now everybody understand what I am looking for. I was trying to figure out the St. Petersburg area Model flying  fields here http://www.ma-db.com/, but I found only one (Lavriki) and no connection information. Let's hope that someone interested in this post.

Большое спасибо что написали нам - было очень приятно ознакомится с Вашим интернетресурсом, фото-видео...на высоте!

Ваши плайнера лично на меня произвели большое впечатление (особенно понравилось видео Вашего пилотажа с дымовыми шашками).

 

Раньше я думал что в Финляндии есть только один пилот Нурилла (NURILA) который лет за 5-6 перебрался из низов в мировую элиту F3A пилотажа! ... о как я ошибался...)))

Hi, Juha!

I'm Victor Selukov. Me and my frend Andrey Yakovlev each year visit the Finnish glider competition (3-4 events per year). I fly only f3k. Andrew flies in f3k and f3j. Finnish event we learn here http://lennokit.net/...isplay.php?f=79 (My nickname WWS too) And we have telephone contact with Janne and Markku Savolainen. Also I have an FB account https://www.facebook.com/metalki.ru  Janne - have it too. Finnish pilots are our good friends.

Unfortunately, in St. Petersburg quantity of gliders pilots less than in Finland. And we don't have specialized fields where flying gliders. But Russia has a lot of land and fields, where you can fly just-so. Andrey and I know almost all glider pilots from St. Petersburg. You can talk with your Finnish colleagues (Tano Knuutilla, Jukka Lahtinen etc). We have a very small number who runs RC-gliders in Pietari. RC-towing we have not carried out

But we are glad to come to you (in Estonia, in Latvia, in Lithuania too). If you are interested, we can share our e-mall, so that you can advertise our events on Finnish resources. And I can announce your events on this forum and facebook.

Коллеги!

Я надеюсь я не наврал про то, что большие планера с буксира у нас в Питере никто не пускает? Если энтузиасты все-таки есть - отметьтесь тут. Или еще планеристы из Питера и окрестностей, кто кроме нас с Яковлевым на финские контесты постоянно едит. А то может в другом классе кто-то ездит.

Про яхтсменов знаю. Но чтобы RC-планеристы - только мы. Будем рады, если есть еще кто-то, с кем можно было бы объединится. Финские места проведения соревнований нами достаточно хорошо изучены. Даже побеждали на их полях


Но мне в письме Juha ключевой показлась фраза о том, что они хотели бы приглашать российских пилотов на их соревнования по запуску больших копийных моделей планеров с буксира.  Я честно-говоря и в Москве-то не знаю, кто такое пускает. Если кто и делает модель, то обычно с мотором и по планерному (в потоках или с горы) никто на копиях планеров там не летает. На югах -да. Но им до Финлядии, скажем так, далековато.

В любом случае, если кто знает энтузиастов именно больших планерных копий - сводите с Juha. Лично я у нас таких не знаю.

Сергей скромно промолчал про себя, красивого... В Аннино несколько раз летали, не так просто с буксировщиком получается...

Великие Луки далековато. Я просто хотел сказать, что даже если кто-то и пускает - это разовое событие. Пускает как правило не планераст-ортодокс, оттого и манера управления не планерная. Живьем у нас копийные модели с буксиром не видел, но частенько на крупных показательных евентах, в России летают планера. С дымом, с пилотажем иногда и вообще, с мотором (ну не выключая оного). Соответственно видно, что летит не планер, а мотор, к которому сзади что-то привязано.

Собственно оттого и любопытство - кто у нас в Питере еще планеристы, а не просто от случая к случаю могут планер красивый в небо выгулять.

Hi Victor and all,

I konw Jukka and Markku well and they have participated IGG Events many times too. Markku had couple of years ago a Nimbus 4D Scale Glider, but I'm not sure if he still have it. 

 

It is surprising that no one in St. Petersburg fly towing machines and gliders. I will inform you schedules and locations of events as soon as they are confirmed. You may visit our events and you might get excited about the towing business. It's not difficult at all.  Or, maybe we could visit you and show how it works. I have no idea about the RC regulations in Russia. But maybe it would be possible.

 

Завсегдатай, you should not compare me and Lassi Nurila. Lassi is a world class top flyer and he fly 100 times better than I

In St. Petersburg there is no specific model aircraft clubs for adults. Therefore, no special fields to run large gliders.There is a place where you can pay a one-time fee to hold the event. But while the aerotow gliders in such events did not participate. If there is no space for regular flights, there will be enthusiasts. That's why I began to fly in the F3K-competition.

It would be nice if you visited any festival in St. Petersburg with his models. I think our organizers will be able to find some dates relatively large events, where they could spend the demonstration flights.

2 Bil: Ну вот! Я выкрутился. Теперь выкручивайтесь вы Если в Аннино (на "газонах") в 2014 что-нибудь масштабное будет проводиться, то вполне можно пригласить нашего нового финского друга. Все только выиграют. Вы же составляли календарь. Если ничего такого нет, то что же делать тогда будем ждать подходящего события где-нибудь поблизости.

Здесь важно пояснить, что жители Финляндии могут въезжать в Петербург до трех дней без сложного оформления визы. Но при этом они не имеют права поехать куда-то дальше в Россию. Т.е. Великие Луки - это уже проблема. Я не слышал, чтобы ситуация поменялась в лучшую сторону.

Hi Alexey and congratulations on the new Cessna! It looks great and flies pretty well. Good towing plane for sure! I'm towing with 3,8m PZL-106A Kruk, which is a bit of the same type. However, much uglier. My second towing plane is 3,4m PZL-104 Wilga. I'm a fan for Polish Aeroplanes Here is a video of towing with my Kruk (There was almost a collision with a paraglider, see the film..).

 

But  the coolest issue is the fact that around Petersburg is glider towing activity. I was almost loosing my hope Where exactly it happens? Do you have a model Airfield or are you using 1:1 Airfields?

Hi Juha ! Thanks , but Cessna needs to be seriously rebuilded for towing ,cause of its weak construction . But i'm going to to it ! 
Thaks for the video , It's great ,especially flying from ice and Nightwish music !
The towing activity is progressig now . We have some model airfields  ,but they are no suitable for lage planes , not more than 2.2 m and are not sutable for giant gliders . We can fly 1:1 fields but they are to busy in summere seson by real planes . And now the best ! Every year , from the later spring till the first colds we are renting the huge fied  where grass-plot is grown . This field is suitable for any size of planes and gliders  . Alexey, what time you will have your event this Year?  I would think that a small IGG team from Finland would be interested in participating in your event... I have no Idea about the customs declaration and another regulations, but in principle, it would be interesting. We have every year towing events outside Finland: In Sweden, Estonia, Germany and so on. My dream is to visit Russia once This Year scedule is still open.

Victor, when we travel, we carry gliders and towing planes (engines...) with us as well. When you travel to Finland, it's going on Finnish customs regulations. When we travel, it's going on Russian customs. Do you have some experience from the past? Some international competitions with foreign pilots in Russia or something?
